Student Announcements for Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007

We received this reminder from the Student Services Office at LPSDO. They asked us to pass it along to our parents: Most parents and kids know that normal CO2, spring, or piston type BB and pellet guns that shoot a steel or lead projectile fall under the areas of prohibited student conduct. The past few years, inexpensive plastic pellet/BB guns have become popular with many kids. Many of these shoot a plastic type BB or pellet. These airsoft guns may be powered by spring, CO2, or battery and are sold at a variety of locations such sporting goods stores as well as convenience or drug stores such as Walgreens, OSCO, etc. Please ensure that parents as well as all students are aware that these airsoft BB/pellet guns fall within the areas of prohibited student conduct and they are not allowed in schools. Students found possessing, using, or transmitting one or more of these BB/pellet guns will be in violation of paragraph "F" and/or "S" of the LPS Areas of Prohibited Student Conduct."

Students should arrive at Mickle by 7:50 a.m. to give them time to put their belongings in their lockers and arrive at their 8:00 am class on time. Students may not arrive on campus prior to 7:30 am when adults are available for supervision. Having this arrival time is for the safety of your child. The outside supervisors help ensure your childs welfare on campus. The times are coordinated with Sampson≠s Construction to minimize construction activity during arrival times. Students who arrive early will be directed to the P7 classroom where supervision is available.

8th grade business is going to be selling cookies on Thursday, December 13 after school at the main entrance. You can buy one cookie for 50 cents. The money made will help provide holiday meals for some Mickle families. Get there before they are all gone!

Friday is Mickle Pride Day !!! Show your spirit by wearing your Mickle gear. This includes Mickle shirts or Mickle pride shirts or sweatshirts. Let's show some Missle spirit!!!

The deadline for Pet Show entries in the media center is Friday, December 21, the last day before vacation. Be sure to enter, 3 lucky students will star on posters with their pets. See Mrs. Vanneman or Mrs. Scheuler for details!

There are lots of nice clothes and other items in the lost and found. Please come claim your items. The lost and found will be packed up and donated over Christmas break. You need to get your belongings before then or they will be gone. The lost and found is located at the end of the hall by the FCS room.
