Announcements for Parents:
The Parent/Guardian Information Meeting that was scheduled at Northeast on Wednesday, January 16, for 7:00 has been canceled due to the weather. This meeting was for Eighth graders who are planning on attending Northeast next year. A rescheduled date will be posted at a later time, please contact Northeast if you have any questions.
Students enrolled in the Lincoln Public Schools Entrepreneurship Focus Program have established the Phones for Food program to collect old/unused cell phones during the month of January. For each cell phone turned in to the phone-recycling outlet the Entrepreneurship Program receives five dollars. The money collected from the cell phones will be presented to the Lincoln Food Bank to purchase food items for the Backpack Program for LPS elementary students.
Staff and students are encouraged to bring in their old/unused cell phones to the Scott Middle School office during the next three weeks. Please help us assist the students enrolled in the Entrepreneurship Program with their community service project.
Practice for the 7th & 8th grade Girls Basketball will go as follows for the remainder of the season.

Announcements for Students:
8th grade students: ≥The LPS Technology Focus Program offers 100 minute computer classes for high school students. Students can choose to attend classes from 7:35 - 9:15 AM or from 1:30 - 3:10 PM. Students maintain all ties to their home high school for the majority of their school day. Learn to program, create digital art and digital video, design web sites and more using state of the art hardware and software. All classes are 10 credits and meet the LPS Technology Graduation requirement. There are no prerequisites for applying. Informational meetings will be held Tuesday, January 22, at 7:00 PM and Thursday,January 24th, at 7:00 PM. Both meetings will be held at the Information Technology Focus Program, located on the fourth floor of the Southeast Community College Entrepreneurship Center, 285 South 68th Street Place. "The 1st Mickle Spelling Bee will be held Thursday, January 31. Prizes include $ 50 for 1st place and an online subscription to Encyclopedia Britannica. There will be treats and prizes for all participants. So join the fun by picking up your entry form and word study list from Mrs. Vanneman."
CLC Aviation/Rocket Club: Sign-up today, Jan. 15th, on the corkboard outside of the cafeteria. There are limited spaces so sign-up quickly! The club starts on January 30th, and will meet every Wednesday for 7 weeks from 3:15 to 4:15 in room 108. This club will learn about aviation, build hot air balloons and rockets, and take a tour of a Black Hawk Helicopter.
