Announcements for Parents:

8th graders: We are pleased to inform you that our 8th Grade Parent Information Night at Northeast High School has been rescheduled for Monday, January 28, 2008. It will start in the center gym/cafeteria at 7:00 pm. Please enter through the front doors located on 63rd Street. We look forward to working with the newest "Rockets".

Students enrolled in the Lincoln Public Schools Entrepreneurship Focus Program have established the Phones for Food program to collect old/unused cell phones during the month of January. For each cell phone turned in to the phone-recycling outlet the Entrepreneurship Program receives five dollars. The money collected from the cell phones will be presented to the Lincoln Food Bank to purchase food items for the Backpack Program for LPS elementary students.

Practice for the 7th & 8th grade Girls Basketball will go as follows for the remainder of the season.

Announcements for Students:

"Attention Student Council members: we are having a meeting this Thursday after school in Mr. Schafer's room until 4:00. Your t-shirts are in and we need to get to work on the All-School Party. Thank you."

Mickle Science Bowl will meet this Friday for about twenty minutes in P11 to discuss details for the regional science bowl this Saturday. Please plan to attend if you are signed up for Saturday or see Ms Bockman or Mr Rousseau.

Avery P., has been selected by the Mickle Character Education Committee as our B107.3 Character MVP Award winner. Listen to a summary of Avery's great character qualities throughout this week on B107.3. Congratulations, Avery.

8th grade students: ≥The LPS Technology Focus Program offers 100 minute computer classes for high school students. Students can choose to attend classes from 7:35 - 9:15 AM or from 1:30 - 3:10 PM. Students maintain all ties to their home high school for the majority of their school day. Learn to program, create digital art and digital video, design web sites and more using state of the art hardware and software. All classes are 10 credits and meet the LPS Technology Graduation requirement. There are no prerequisites for applying. Informational meeting will be held Thursday,January 24th, at 7:00 PM. The meeting will be held at the Information Technology Focus Program, located on the fourth floor of the Southeast Community College Entrepreneurship Center, 285 South 68th Street Place. The meeting is open to all high school students. Parents and guardians are encouraged to attend. Call 436-1776 or visit the web site at "itfp.lps.org" for more information."

"The 1st Mickle Spelling Bee will be held Thursday, January 31. Prizes include $ 50 for 1st place and an online subscription to Encyclopedia Britannica. There will be treats and prizes for all participants. So join the fun by picking up your entry form and word study list from Mrs. Vanneman."
