Announcements for Parents:

Say Thanks by helping to provide food for our terrific teachers and staff. Mickle PTSO will provide supper prior to parent-teacher conferences on Tuesday, Feb. 19th and Thursday, Feb. 21st. If you can help, please contact Susie Carlson at 464-5218 as soon as possible.

Reminder that Conferences will be February 19 & 21. This is a reminder and an important message for all parents who have students using the Internet. The search engine of choice for LPS is NetTrekker. NetTrekker was purchased for the students in our district because it is considered a "safe" source of information. Every site on NetTrekker has been selected and reviewed by teachers.

Google searching is not appropriate for students for several reasons; one being the availability of questionable information and the other the lack of a student's ability to choose authoritative sites from the numerous hits that the topic may generate. Google is intended for an adult audience.

NetTrekker, along with a variety of other resources, is available for home access, a student simply needs to stop in the media center and ask for the bookmark for ≥Home Access.≈ This bookmark lists the ids and passwords for all district library media resources that are available for students in LPS.

Announcements for Students:

Students who are interested in helping sell cookie dough at conferences either Tuesday or Thursday of this week, please see Mr. Deutsch today during lunch. We are looking for students who are able to work 1 hour shifts either of the nights.

This is a reminder to students to use crosswalks when crossing busy streets. We had fender bender yesterday morning due to a student not using the cross walk and running out in front of traffic. For your safety and the safety of others please pay attention.

Way to go students and staff. We collected over 4000 boxtops in about a month. Please keep collecting them in your 1st period "A" day classes in bundles of 25. We will have more drawings in March. February winners will be announced soon. Way to go!!

The Book Fair opens today in the media center conference room until 3:15˘you could win a free book! Mrs. Vanneman

INTRAMURALS

ATTENTION WRESTLERS: Wrestling begins today - Feb. 18th in the West Gym. There will be no practice on Tues or Thurs because of Conferences. Please be off campus by 4:30

ATTENTION 6th GRADERS: You may play some basketball this week in the East Gym on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Learn some new skills and meet the coaches. There will be no gym time on Tues or Thurs because of Conferences. Please arrange for your transportation to pick you up by 4:30

Lunch Menu for today: Turkey Tetrazzini, Big Zone Cheese Pizza, Hamburger, and fresh salads made daily here at Mickle.
