*The PTSO is having the WAFFLEMAN at Mickle Middle School, Thursday, May 9th! We need your help to make this fundraiser a success. Please use the following link to volunteer your time and help support Mickle Middle School. All proceeds are going towards the 8th grade celebration. We want to celebrate our 8th graders by giving them a little end of the year celebration for all of their hard work in middle school and to wish them luck as they venture off high school.
*Summer volunteer opportunity! Lincoln City Libraries are looking for volunteers to help with their summer reading program. Volunteers will work 1-2 hours a week helping younger students sign up for the program, answering questions and any other capacity they may need. If interested, see Mrs. Fickes in the media center or stop by your city library branch to get an application form. After filling out the form, volunteers will need to attend a training at the branch they are interested in working at. See Mrs. Fickes with any questions.
There will be no school Friday, April 19. The following Monday, April 22, is an Elementary Plan Day, which means it will be a regular school day for Mickle students.
Please join us at our next PTSO meeting Tuesday, April 30th, at 6:30 in the Mickle Media Center. You won’t wanna miss the guest speaker from the Northeast Area Council for Teen Safety (N-ACTS). N-ACTS is a group of parents, teachers and students that focus on teen safety. N-ACTS would like to invite Mickle parents to join us in the conversation around parenting topics. We would love to have passionate people that would like to learn and/or share concerns around parenting children of all ages, but specifically, with younger kids that would like to focus on prevention of risky behaviors.
The PTSO would like your input in what you would like to hear at next year’s PTSO meetings. Please click on the following link and give us your thoughts on what topics you would like to hear about. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/3YTJNLC
April is National School Library Month and it’s time for the 19th Annual Cans4Books! Raise money for your school library AND do something good for the planet by recycling your aluminum cans. Bring your empty cans to the Mickle Middle School library. For every plastic grocery bag you bring full of cans, you will receive a raffle ticket to enter to win a Mickle plastic reusable water bottle full of goodies. Bring as many bags as you can from April 1st – 30th.
