Monday October 7th is World Bully Prevention Day! We would like students to wear Blue in Support of the movement to Blue Out Bullying.
We want to show a united effort to support positivity and acceptance of others. We are also rolling out a “Mickle Mission” for each week to challenge students to try new ways to engage others positively. These missions will be in the announcements at school and home each Monday!
Please help encourage your students to wear something Blue on Monday to help show others that when we stand together, we stand strong!
*Lost and Found items are growing. Students should check outside of the cafe for missing items. Unclaimed items from lost and found will be donated over fall break.
*Science Focus/Zoo School Program
You’re Invited ~ Information Night
(Monday, October 21, 2 options: 5:30-6:30 or 6:30-7:30)
Open to students in 9th – 12th grades…can start in 9th grade and participate as many years as the student wants to.
Classes are meant to be challenging, hands-on, and self-motivated. Classes are held from 10:00am-3:00pm daily and run on a block schedule of three classes per day with each being about 1 ½ hours each. Wednesday afternoons are used for students to work on their research and portfolio projects.
Students complete portfolios at the end of each semester. These portfolios demonstrate how much the student has learned. Teachers, students, and parents all meet to review the portfolio. Depending on the class, portfolios usually consist of essays, reflections, notes, tests, labs, and anything else asked of the student.
Can attend any high school. Students take 1-2 classes (Fine Arts, PE, World Lang) at their home high school each morning. All students are bused to and from their home high school.
Entry to the Science Focus/Zoo School Program is by application only. Apply early. The application can be found on the LPS website: http://wp.lps.org/zoo/
