We will be gone the entire day from 8:00A.M. till approximately 2:58P.M. 6th and 7th graders will be on the LPS PLC schedule that day. 8th grade students will need to bring a sack lunch if they have not ordered a school sack lunch. They will also need to dress warmly as we may be outside for a portion of the trip. There is no cost to your student. Students will be working with historians, learning about the Homestead Act of 1862. We feel this is a great opportunity for our Mickle students and hope all 8th graders can participate. STRING BACKPACKS………We are noticing an increase in the number of string backpacks being used in the hallways during passing time. Please do not carry them from your locker into classrooms. LPS school rules limit backpacks of any kind appearing in classrooms or gyms areas due to safety concerns and the possibility someone may not have the appropriate items in their bag. I know it may appear to be more convenient, but please do not have backpacks (strings or otherwise) with you as you carry materials from class to class.
Keep saving those boxtops. Another opportunity for prizes is coming up soon.
