Come support the Mickle Middle School 8th grade fundraiser group at Hu Hot at 66th & O, on Tuesday, September 25th.  We get 10% of the proceeds between 5 – 8 pm.  Enter the 50/50 raffle for a chance to split the raffle money too!  Hope to see you there…you know ya gotta  eat!!

From there, find “Mickle Middle School” in the school choices make a donation of your points to our overall total.  After Nov 30, we will see how Mickle does overall!

The goal is to raise funds to help purchase school uniforms, shoes and backpacks for the children of the Amadeus Orphanage in Haiti.  Join Mrs. G  today, and Monday 24, 3:15 to 4:00. in the art room. Question ask Mrs. G.

We need a cover for our yearbook. Design a cover around the slogan “Get Out and Play the Mickle Way”.  Submit on an 8.5 X 11 piece of paper. The design can be handdrawn (in color) or computer generated. Entries must be original works of art, no clipart or pictures from the internet. All entries must be submitted to Mrs. Searls in room 125 by Friday Sep. 28th. The winner will receive a free yearbook. See Mrs. Searls for questions

Candy Bars (Almond in Milk and Dark chocolate) will be sold after school by the main office.

 The Mickle Media/PTSO Book Fair will be next week, Monday thru Thursday in the Fitness Room!  Classes can visit the fair with their teacher during the day, or students may come after school or during parent/teacher conferences.  5 lucky people will win a FREE book!!!  8th graders! Sign up to volunteer at the book fair and earn a reward!  See Mrs. Fickes

 MUPPETS TAKE MICKLE” is coming to Mickle Middle School!!!!  All Mickle 6th, 7th & 8th graders are invited to come sing with us at our rehearsals beginning THURSDAY & FRIDAY, SEPT. 13 & 14.  You can come to before school practice at 7:00 am or after school practice at 3:00 pm in room 142 (Choir Room).  We will have a snack for you at each rehearsal.  Our concert will be Thursday, October 11th in the Mickle Auditorium.

Students: Have something to share?  Newspaper club is looking for submissions of comics, artwork, jokes, short stories, poems, recipes, or questions for Auntie Marge. Drop off submissions in the box outside of the library.  See your creativity in print!

The next PTSO meeting will be September 18th at 6:30pm in the Media Center.  There are no dues to join the PTSO.  Come and join in the discussion on raising funds for the new sound system for the auditorium.  We will also be starting a hospitality committee to help organize and plan different activities for the staff and students.   So on September 18th, come for your student lead conference and then stay for the meeting.

Parent/Teacher Conference Meals – PTSO Needs YOU!

The PTSO is still in need of a few items for the conference meals for September 18th and 20th.  On Tuesday, September, 18th, we will provide a spaghetti dinner.  We still need some bread, salad,  and desserts for that night.  On Thursday, September 20th, we will be providing Mexican and are still in need of more casseroles, flour tortillas, chips and desserts.

If you are able to help out, please let Angie Miller know at ajmmiller18@hotmail.com or 402-560-5183.  Your items will need to be at the school by 2:30.  If you would like to help out but are not able to donate a food item, cash donation s are appreciated too.  You can send it with your student and have them drop it off at the Main Office.

The next PTSO meeting will be September 18th at 6:30pm in the Media Center.  There are no dues to join the PTSO.  Come and join in the discussion on raising funds for the new sound system for the auditorium.  We will also be starting a hospitality committee to help organize and plan different activities for the staff and students.   So on September 18th, come for your student lead conference and then stay for the meeting. 

FALL CONFERENCES:  Have you cleared your calendar??  Mickle student-led conferences are scheduled from 4-7pm on either Sept 18 or Sept 20.  An open letter from students to parents is available by clicking here: http://goo.gl/xBnyq

Parent/Teacher Conference Meals – PTSO Needs YOU!

The PTSO is still in need of a few items for the conference meals for September 18th and 20th.  On Tuesday, September, 18th, we will provide a spaghetti dinner.  We still need some bread, salad,  and desserts for that night.  On Thursday, September 20th, we will be providing Mexican and are still in need of more casseroles, flour tortillas, chips and desserts.

If you are able to help out, please let Angie Miller know at ajmmiller18@hotmail.com or 402-560-5183.  Your items will need to be at the school by 2:30.  If you would like to help out but are not able to donate a food item, cash donation s are appreciated too.  You can send it with your student and have them drop it off at the Main Office.

Help Mickle with this outside of school fundraiser from Hy-Vee:  For every $20 of Procter & Gamble products you purchase at Hy-Vee from September 1, 2012 through November 30, 2012 you earn 100 SMART Points to donate to the school of your choice. Find the promotional codes printed on your receipt of purchase, and enter it by clicking on the “Donate” button. From there, find “Mickle Middle School” in the school choices make a donation of your points to our overall total.  After Nov 30, we will see how Mickle does overall!

 The Mickle Media/PTSO Book Fair will be next week, Monday thru Thursday in the Fitness Room!  Classes can visit the fair with their teacher during the day, or students may come after school or during parent/teacher conferences.  5 lucky people will win a FREE book!!!  8th graders! Sign up to volunteer at the book fair and earn a reward!  See Mrs. Fickes

Students, Have you talked with your families and cleared the family calendar to attend Student Led conferences next week on either Tuesday or Thursday??  Work samples and reflections will be gathered completed this week.

Remember to check in the main office if you lose keys.  We have collected a couple of sets this week. 

MUPPETS TAKE MICKLE” is coming to Mickle Middle School!!!!  All Mickle 6th, 7th & 8th graders are invited to come sing with us at our rehearsals beginning THURSDAY & FRIDAY, SEPT. 13 & 14.  You can come to before school practice at 7:00 am or after school practice at 3:00 pm in room 142 (Choir Room).  We will have a snack for you at each rehearsal.  Our concert will be Thursday, October 11th in the Mickle Auditorium.

Students: Have something to share?  Newspaper club is looking for submissions of comics, artwork, jokes, short stories, poems, recipes, or questions for Auntie Marge. Drop off submissions in the box outside of the library.  See your creativity in print!

On Thursday, September 20th, we will serve Mexican food.  I can provide taco meat.  We will need taco shells, tortillas, salsa, sour cream, lettuce, refried beans, cheese, or if you have a favorite Mexican casserole to contribute, that would be great too, and desserts.

Yearbooks can be ordered in room 125 before school for $20 on Tuesday and Thursdays. Office staff and teacher CANNOT take your money. You must find Mrs. Searls before school to turn in your money.
