Announcements for Parents – #Robinmicklems:

There will be no homework club on Tuesday because it is a PLC day.

The PTSO would like to extend a huge THANK YOU for all the parents who contributed food and cash donations for the Parent Teacher Conference Meals!  We received a lot of really good feedback from the teachers about how much they enjoyed the meals provided.

Has your students lost a pair of eyeglasses this year? We have 28 pairs of glasses in our lost and found box!  Take a look at the Mickle website to see if they look familiar.  To claim glasses, students can pick them up in the main office.   http://wp.lps.org/mickle/files/2012/02/P2240016.jpg

The new POGO Card is here, it includes two sets of cards.  It has 280 Businesses on it.   The golf section has 23 golf courses, and that includes all 5 city courses, and their offer is buy one round get one free.  The cost is $25. They are available in the office.

Mickle’s Planner Word of the Week: Effort-  Breakdown your goals into small steps.  It’s easier to keep up your efforts when you can see progress along the way!

There will be no homework club on Tuesday because it is a PLC day.

All Boys’ Choir members need to be sure to attend the 7:15 am rehearsal on Thursday, March 1 to prepare for their concert performance that evening.  Please plan to come to the choir room by 7:15 am for this IMPORTANT REHEARSAL!

Mickle Scientists, the science fair help session this week will happen Thursday after school with Mr. Haney in room 202.  All science fair registration forms are due this Friday.  If you do not complete and return your registration form by this Friday you will be unable to participate in the district science fair.  See your science teacher for an extra copy of the registration form if you need one, and please give completed forms to your science teacher as well.  Mickle’s Science Fair will occur on Thursday March 22nd in our Media Center, and the LPS District science fair will occur on March 27th at the Lancaster Event Center.

The next student council meeting will be moved from Wednesday, March 7th to Thursday, March 8th. If you have any questions please contact Ms. Wiemer.

Mickle’s Planner Word of the Week: Imagination – Imagine yourself in one year, five years, ten years. Where do you hope to be? How can you begin moving on the right direction now?

Greetings ETS Students!  I hope that your break was well and that you got what you wanted/deserved for Christmas.  Time to start off the year right, we will begin tutoring again next week on Wednesday in Mr Rowe’s Classroom!  Workshop runs from 3-4PM so see you all there and looking forward to another exciting semester!  Peace and Progress!

Yearbooks can now be ordered for $20 in room 125 before school on Tues and Thurs mornings. This price will increase 4th quarter, so order yours soon.

This is another contest week for members have Mickle Math Club.  This is the 3rd test out of the series of 5 SIGMA tests.  Members can meet Mrs. Bettis the hall outside the auditorium doors any afternoon after school this week

Nine Math Club members have done the challenges to help our club upgrade to Silver Level Status but have not completed all 5 challenges.  Please meet Mrs. Bettis by the auditorium doors any afternoon this week so that you can complete the challenges and help us get the plaque and the upgrade in Club status.  Only members completing the challenges will be invited to the next Club party.

Congratulations to 8th grader Erica Von Gillern.  She is our B107.3 MVP for the 8th grade.  Erica was nominated by the ACES team and Mrs. Norval because of her outstanding character.  She is always kind and respectful to everyone.  She is involved in the Green team, showing great citizenship.  Listen for the complete nomination of Erica this week on B.107.3 radio station.

A Reminder to Everyone: Check lost and found before you leave for winter break to claim your lost items.   Anything left will be donated. 

Mickle Math Club members did a terrific job on the International AMC (American Mathematics Competition) test.  Five students earned International Honor Roll status for having 17 or more correct problems out of the 25 problems on the test.  These students were 8th graders Rachel J. (20 problems), Kaitlynne J. (17 problems), Logan R.(17 problems ; 7th grader Max M. (17 problems) and 6th grader Kaylie H. (17 problems).  Kaylie also earned a Certificate of Achievement for being a 6th grader with more than 15 correct problems.  All of these students were awarded certificates, pins, and their names will be printed in the International recognition book.  Kahoa Math Club was awarded a certificate for having a team score of more than 50 points.  We had a total score of 56. 

Join the card club after school today for a Magic The Gathering card tournament.  The tournament will take place in Mr. Rowe’s room, 120.  Since today is a PLC day, the tournament will begin at 2:00pm and will last until 4:15pm.  Please be on time so you don’t miss the instructions and opponent assignments.  Prizes will be given out to winning students.  If you have questions, you can direct those to Mrs. Petsch, whose room is 139 by the band room.  We hope to see you there!

News club will meet tomorrow at 7:20am to deliver our latest copies of the Mickle Newspaper. Please meet in the LIBRARY!

Individual winners are:  Mashaya D., Hunter W., Chole M., Samantha F., Lindsey M., Payton S., Emily S. and Kaeshawn H..  All of these winners can pick up their $5.00 gift card from Mrs. Pfoltner in the band room.
Next collection date will be in early March–keep collecting.

Check in the office or with your English Teacher for more information. All 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students are welcome, regardless of skill level. If you plan to participate or are just interested, please turn in the registration form in the brochure to your English teacher or the office.

All Mickle 7th Grade students are invited to participate in the Lincoln Public Schools 7th Grade Choral Festival that will be held on Thursday, February 9th at Culler Middle School.  Seventh grade students representing each of Lincoln Public Schools middle schools will make up the choir.  This is a great chance for you to be part of a first class group of singers!  If you want to be part of this unique experience and can commit your time to rehearsals and the performance on the evenng of February 9th, please contact Mrs. Johnson (Room 142) for more information by Thursday, December 22nd.

Do you like Parties? Do you want something to do on a Friday Night?  The Belmont Recreation Center (Teen Treks) is having a Winter Party Friday, December 16th at 7p.m.  There will be gym time, game room tournament and snacks.  Bring money for a drink.  Pick up no later than 9:15.
