*Thank you to everyone who made P.O.P. night a huge success. The event raised around $950.00, we could not have done it without the support of the Mickle Community!

*Attention students: If you are 13 years old (or will be by the start of summer) you can stop by the counseling center to pick up a summer detasseling application. We have applications available for two separate companies: Champoux Detasseling & Ailes Detasseling. You will return the application to the address on the application, not Mickle.

April means it’s Cans 4 Books time!  Help the environment while helping your library at the same time.  Bring in a grocery sack of aluminum cans to the media center and you will win a poster from the book fair (limit 1 poster per student). Money from the recycled cans will go to buy new books for the library!  Cans can also be dropped off at A Can Recycling, just let them know your donation is for Mickle.

Slam Dunk and 3 Point Contest- Wednesday, April 18th from 6:00-7:30 pm in the Mickle gyms. Mickle students and staff are able to compete in this slam dunk and 3 point contest to raise money for the Backpack Walk this year. Admission for spectators is $3 at the door. *Today is a PLC day.  Students will be released at 1:38p and should be off campus no later than 1:53p. Just a reminder….There are no clubs or intramurals offered on PLC days.

At Mickle Middle School we strive to Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible.  An area that we are always trying to model and teach is using appropriate language or “kind words” when talking to peers, staff, and family members.  In an added effort to help Mickle students continue to become great leaders we are implementing a new initiative called “Use Another Word.” Students will be asked to take a pledge to think about the words they are saying and the impact they may have on others.  Being culturally sensitive to every person regardless of difference is a foundational part of becoming a great leader now and in the future. Students who choose to use insensitive language will be asked to have a conversation with their teacher and write about why they made a poor choice and how it can be corrected.  Students who continue to use insensitive language will be asked to have a conversation with an administrator and repair the harm they have done to a peer or adult. Your student will be asked to take this pledge next week on our PLC day. Thank you for your continued support of our important work with your students at Mickle Middle School.

Attention all 8th grade parents! We need EVERYONE’S help to plan the big end of the year 8th grade party. Our students will soon be heading off to high school, so let’s congratulate them for their hard work and send them off with a BANG!

When: Tonight

Where: Mickle Media Center

Time: 6:30pm
