*On Monday, April 8th  from 3pm-3:30pm, the Missile Market returns to Mickle for food distribution. In partnership with the Lincoln Food Bank, students are able to come to the Mickle west gym after school for this distribution. A Food Bank truck will be stationed at the 7th grade door.   View the Lincoln Food Bank website for more information.

Attention 6th grade families:
School Counselor, Mrs. Hanseling, will be presenting in Humanities classrooms over the next couple weeks. The topic: Look2College. This is a lesson from Education Quest that explores the following questions: What do you want to be? How will you get there? How will you pay for it? After the lesson students will come home with a booklet-please ask them about what they learned and review the booklet with your student. More information can be found here: https://educationquest.org/professionals/grades-6-8-resources/

Late Drop Off after 755am (all grade levels) will move to New Main Door #1 –

When dropping off students at 7:55am or later, all should be using the new front entrance to come into school (west side of building by the flag pole).  Car Pool drivers should be using that to drop off as well.

***The traditional grade level doors will not be supervised for late arrivers.  This would be consistent for all grade levels and students.  During construction, we have been stationing an adult at grade level doors almost right up until the 8am bell.  However, that is not a process that we will be able to continue with the addition of a 5th entrance.   Our flex adult supervision have shifted to being in the halls with our 700 students in the mornings rather than individually waiting for the 10-15 late arrivers.  Thank you for adjusting the message to your walking students and adults that help with car pool driving.

Hope Squad is a peer-to-peer suicide prevention program. Hope Squad members are nominated by their classmates as trustworthy peers and trained by advisors. The program reduces the risk of youth suicide through education, training, and peer intervention. Mickle’s Hope Squad is: 6th: Zoey, Mia, Sammi, Jed, Mikayla, Lennon, Keira, Brody, Irene, AJ, Quay. 7th: Amiyah, Macie, Morgann, Eden, Holly, Evelyn, Jacey, Ayanna. 8th: Sari, Liatris, Abby & Taya.  Hope Squad is organizing Hope Day at Mickle.  Hope Day is Wednesday, April 3rd. Hope Day is an opportunity for our Hope Squad to increase awareness about mental health and to prevent suicide in our school and community. Our Squad will be at a table in the hallway at lunch spreading hope and resources information. All students are encouraged to wear Mickle shirts or the color blue on Hope Day.

On Monday April 1st @ 5pm at Seacrest field, our 7th and 8th grade Mickle Intramural soccer players have an opportunity to play during the half time of the Lincoln Northeast vs. Columbus varsity soccer game.  Northeast will be working out half price tickets for students for those wanting to attend and play.  You must be a 7th or 8th grader and have played for our Mickle Intramural team this past fall. The first 10-12 students from Mickle that sign up will be allowed to play.  During the half time of the Varsity game, they would add an additional 5 mins or so on to the halftime clock and run a scrimmage game.  If you are a 7th or 8th grader that played for the Mickle soccer team in the fall and you are interested in playing, sign up with Mr. Bender.
