*Last Day Dismissal Times
Thursday, May 23 – Last Day of School (LPS Early Release Schedule)
LPS will dismiss all middle schools at 1:40pm. Please note the earlier time.
Likewise we ask that families not plan any dramatic efforts at pick up (limos, unique signage, etc).
Staggered release for last time together outside for yearbooks

***If a student would rather not stay and mingle, they are welcome to safely leave campus for the summer.
*Yearbooks will be passed out on Thursday, May 23rd, during 1st period classes.
8th grade families:
There will be a very large “Congrats Mickle 8th Graders” sign at the 8th grade entrance doors all day/evening on Wednesday, May 22nd. You will see the sign when you arrive at school that morning for drop off. To help with traffic flow, please do not stop and take pictures in the morning. Instead, plan to come back after school and in the evening for pictures. The sign will be up until 8:00pm.
PTSO is providing Kona Ice for all 8th grade students Wednesday afternoon during the school day. Thanks to those that donated!
*Conduct on the last days
We want students to end the year on a positive note. Students have been informed that conduct and behavior at the end of the school year is just as important as any other time. Please talk with your student and let them know that you are also aware of the school stance of ending on a positive note by simply cooperating with our ‘simple to follow’ expectations. Although we want to avoid it if at all possible, students who violate the code of conduct are subject to being removed (suspended) from school for the remainder of the year.
*Outside Food and Lunch Time
A reminder, we ask families to avoid making lunch plans to eat with your student on the last two days. This is a high energy time and we plan for an adjusted eating schedule on the last day.
*Last Day for Lockers
All students will clean out lockers on Wed, May 22. Students will not have lockers on the last day of school. Please limit what they bring to school to a cold lunch if they are not eating the school lunch. We will store these in a safe location for students.
*The Mickle Health Office wants to assure the safe return of medications for students. Medications will be sent home on the last day of school unless other arrangements have been made. Medications cannot be stored over the summer and will be destroyed if not sent home or picked up on the last day of school.
CLC:
There are no CLC Clubs this week.
—-Full Program WILL have programming Monday (05/20), Tuesday (05/21), & Wednesday (05/22) of next week.
—There will not be any CLC programming on the final day of school (05/23).

Lost & Found Items – Please remind your students to look and claim any missing items!
2nd Semester Report Cards
Report cards will be available to view in ParentVue on May 28. Those that have asked for duplicate mailings will have them mailed out as well. Please call the school office if you would like a printed copy of the report card to be put in US mail.
From May 28th through August 1st, 2024, (except July 4th) Mickle Staff will be hosting work days in the Mickle garden. Students interested are welcome to join us on a drop-in basis on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 – 10 am. Students need to return a signed permission slip, which can be picked up from Mrs. Hammond in 115, Lori Blum in 111, or the office. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact, Katie Hammond at khammond@lps.org We would love for your student’s help over the summer caring for the Mickle garden.
Please return all library books to the library by the end of the year. Students can login to their account on Destiny Discover to find out what books they currently have out.
