*New Announcements

*During Quarter 2 & Quarter 3, Mickle will have a Science Quiz Bowl team.  This 7th & 8th grade team participates in a Jeopardy-style team competition, where students have to buzz in to answer questions both on their own and with their team.  At Mickle, we have two teams of five students each.  Teams will compete against Mickle teachers and staff during Quarter 3 in our annual Teacher vs. Student competition.
–To participate, interested students are asked to sign up on a form on their science teachers’ Google Classroom. The next step for students is to take a test after school from 3:05pm until completion. This test will determine their current level of understanding of basic science and math concepts. Students can test on the following dates below:
– Thursday, October 24th, Room 115 – Mrs. Hammond
– Monday, October 28th, Room 211 – Ms. Rogers
–Teams will be chosen and posted on Wednesday, October 30th after school on the science classroom windows.  Feel free to contact Katie Hammond if you have any questions. khammond@lps.org

*Mel Hernandez from LPS will be here Thursday, October 24 to screen 8th graders, whose home language is Arabic or Spanish, for placement in language courses in high school.

On Friday, Nov. 1st from 4:30-6:00 pm, in the cafeteria, the Inclusivity Club is hosting the Monster Mash dance for Mickle Middle School students. Bring school-appropriate costumes (no masks or inflatables – for safety, faces should be visible) and a good attitude. There will be snacks, drinks, and lots of fun!  We’ll see you there!

There will be an in-person info night (Session 1) for the Science Focus Program on Tuesday, Oct. 22nd from 5-6pm at the Lincoln Children’s Zoo – 1222 S. 27th Street.  Contact Michelle Liedholt (mfonck@lps.org) with questions.
