*New Announcements
PTSO Meeting – Thursday, September 19th, 6:00pm in the Mickle Library.  PTSO invites you to join us for our first meeting of the school year.  We are looking for fresh new ideas on how to continue and strengthen the relationships between the families and staff.  This is low commitment, up to one hour a month at our in person monthly meetings.  Unable to attend but interested in helping please reach out.

*Cross Body bags are not ok in classrooms.-
—Families, recently we have seen an increase in students hoping that cross body bags will be allowed in classrooms to carry phones or other items.  We have told students and are letting families know that cross body bags fall into the same classroom restricted category as backpacks or string bags.  Thank you for helping us by leaving the cross body bags at home and saving them for weekend.

*Families of current 7th grade students:
October 16 is the TDaP school exclusion date!
The Health Office must receive documentation of a physical examination as well as documentation of a TDaP booster.
If you have a physical and/or TDaP appointment date, please contact the Mickle Health Office at 402 436.1216 x 4 with information.  Documentation may be brought in to the office or faxed to 402 458.3216.

Students and their families will learn about all LPS Focus Programs including International Baccalaureate (IB) and The Career Academy. This event is for students in grades 8-11 and their families. *DEADLINE 9/30 to participate in the LPS Chromebook Assurance Program
This message is a friendly reminder for families of secondary students that haven’t yet signed up to participate in the LPS Chromebook Assurance Program (CAP). Act soon!
The Chromebook Assurance Program provides 100% coverage for up to the full replacement cost. This means if your student has an accident and breaks the screen, it’s 100% covered. At a later date, if your student drops the Chromebook and cracks the case… it’s 100% covered. You are charged nothing until such time that the combined damage is more than the value of a full replacement. Those who don’t participate in CAP will be fined for 100% of the cost of any damage or loss. Did you know the one time payment to participate in CAP is LESS than the average repair fee?
The cost to participate is $20.00 ($10.00 for students who qualify for fee waiver) and can be paid in one of two ways (see below). Additional details about the program can be found at http://lps.org/go/CAP.
The premium is listed as a fee in Synergy ParentVUE/StudentVUE on the fees tab. Choose one of two ways to make the payment:

  1.  Online via Credit Card (via ParentVUE)
  2. On-site via Cash or Check

This highly recommended program is only available until September 30.
