Message From The Principal

Mickle families;

While walking through stores or scanning radio stations recently, I have been reminded that the holiday season is quickly approaching. To me, it seems a ways off yet, however when I counted how many student days remain in this semester, I was surprised to find it was down to twenty-six. Please remind students to stay on top of (or get caught up on) their school work. A strong academic focus in the final days of the first semester can have a huge impact on student learning, and will be met with several days of rest and recovery before returning for semester two.

Jason Shanahan – Principal

Missile Market

On Monday, March 10th from 2:55pm-3:30pm, the Missile Market returns to Mickle for food distribution. In partnership with the Lincoln Food Bank, students are able to come to the cafeteria after school for this distribution. Monthly, Mickle will be partnering with the Food Bank of Lincoln for free, on site access to food offerings. Voluntarily, any students are welcome to come and pull items as their family representative. If parents would prefer to represent the family, that is just fine. offering is not required!

To take advantage of the partnership, no sign up is needed and there is no cost to families. The only documentation that is recorded is “”””how many people will this offering go to support””””. The Food Bank will provide big bags to put the food in, as well as produce bags for available produce.

-Food items will not be allowed back into the building/classroom/locker areas. CLC or intramural students will have their items stored in a secure location until the end of activities.

-IF an adult would rather represent the family and take home the items, adults will be asked to enter through the main front entrance (Door #1), check in with the entrance adult and then go to the Market in the cafeteria.

View the Lincoln Food Bank website for more information.
