*Tuesday, April 24 is a PLC day.  Students will be released at 1:38p and should be off campus no later than 1:53p. Just a reminder…There are no clubs or intramurals offered on PLC days.

*A HUGE shoutout to Mickle students, families and staff. We raised over $750.00 for the BackPack Program at the Slam-dunk/3 point contest.  Thank you to everyone who made the night a great success and fun event!

*PSTO will be meeting tonight at 6:30pm in the media center.

It’s almost boxtop turn in time. Get your boxtops turned into your 1st-period teachers. This will help pay for your yearbook!

Chromebooks will be turned in at the end of the school year.  It is never too soon to begin some spring cleaning of those devices.  At home, please look over your student’s device for case cracks, broken ports, or damaged keyboards.  A good wiping down of those areas may also be needed. Carry cases can be emptied of unneeded items and it is never too soon to make sure that chargers and cords are easily located.
Now 6th and 7th grade Chromebook will be checked back out to students in Aug.  8th grade Chromebook will be checked in and then sent to NorthStar High School to be used by high school summer school students.  As 9th graders, students will get new Chromebook assigned to them for their high school career. As we get closer, we will share out more detailed information.

Attention students: If you are 13 years old (or will be by the start of summer) you can stop by the counseling center to pick up a summer detasseling application. We have applications available for two separate companies: Champoux Detasseling & Ailes Detasseling. You will return the application to the address on the application, not Mickle.

April means it’s Cans 4 Books time!  Help the environment while helping your library at the same time.  Bring in a grocery sack of aluminum cans to the media center and you will win a poster from the book fair (limit 1 poster per student). Money from the recycled cans will go to buy new books for the library!  Cans can also be dropped off at A Can Recycling, just let them know your donation is for Mickle.

*PSTO will be meeting Tuesday, April 17 at 6:30pm in the media center.

Exterior Doors are locked while students are inside.  Before school on nicer days, students will wait outside with their peers until the 7:53am bell.  Once students are brought inside, exterior doors lock. If your student arrives to school after 7:53am, drop them off or have them enter at the main front door #1 on the flagpole side of the building.  Once inside, adults are not stationed at exterior doors because we are now supervising hallways and locker areas. The front door is unlocked and monitored before school and after school until 3:15pm.

Eventually, warmer weather will come. Warmer weather also means that students begin to get themselves to and from school in greater numbers.  Please remind students to obey all traffic laws and keep themselves safe by staying in crosswalk areas and on sidewalks.
-Skateboards, roller blades, scooters, etc., are not allowed at school or on school property.
If students are riding their bikes, please remind that they should not be ridden on campus, especially with so many walkers on school sidewalks.  It is also time to double check that bike locks are in good order and working properly. Trying to recover stolen bikes is very difficult and unlocked bikes make for easy targets.
If there are any questions about safe transportation reminders, we are always welcome to sit with families as they talk with their student.  Thank you for your attention and support concerning these spring-time reminders.

Attention students: If you are 13 years old (or will be by the start of summer) you can stop by the counseling center to pick up a summer detasseling application. At Mickle, with all our students having access to school Chromebooks, we continue to require students to leave personal electronics/phones powered off and stored in lockers.  If you have a need to communicate with your student, know that the office can get messages to them. Students are also allowed to use school phone to contact adults at home. Please do not put your student in conflict with school expectations by asking them to carry their phone with them.

*Please help us!
We are looking for a student’s communication device.  It went missing last week and still has not been found.
It is all black, about the size of an iPad (or a little bigger). It has a long black strap attached to it that goes around the student’s neck.  The whole front of the device is a large screen.
A student may have thought that the device was an I-pad.
Our student really needs the device to communicate!
If you or your student has any information about this, please send them to the office to talk to Ms. Garwood.

Manie Musicale!
Vote for your favorite French music video!
Check out the links posted outside of room 221 and vote on which video you think is the best.  Voting is open to the whole school. Scan the QR code or enter the song’s jump code at lps.org to listen to the song.  Vote for your favorite by entering the jump code BNOI at lps.org. The winner will be announced at the end of the tournament.  See if your favorite wins! See Mrs. Miller in room 221 for questions or more details.

Slam Dunk and 3 Point Contest- Wednesday, April 18th from 6:00-7:30 pm in the Mickle gyms. Entry into the contests is $5 per event or $10 to compete in both. Register to compete with Ms. Feeken by Friday, April 13th in Room 116. The hoop will be set at 8 feet for the dunk contest.
