*April is National School Library Month and it’s time for the 19th Annual Cans4Books! Raise money for your school library AND do something good for the planet by recycling your aluminum cans. Bring your empty cans to the Mickle Middle School library. For every plastic grocery bag you bring full of cans, you will receive a raffle ticket to enter to win a Mickle plastic reusable water bottle full of goodies. Bring as many bags as you can from April 1st – 30th.  

 

Mickle’s 2nd Annual Slam Dunk and 3 Point Contest-

The Backpack Walk Fundraiser is back for another year! All students in 6th-8th grade are welcome to participate or come watch Mickle students compete in the Slam Dunk and 3 Point Contest. This will be on April 16th from 6:00-8:00pm in the East Gym. Entry into the contests: $5 for 3 point contest, $5 for dunk contest, $10 for both. Please register for contests by April 12th. Hoop will be set at 8 feet for dunk contest, 10 feet for 3 pt contest. Admission for families and spectators is $3 at the door. All proceeds will be donated to the Backpack Walk/Food Bank of Lincoln. Contact Ms. Feeken with any questions.

To help them prepare, there will be optional before and after school sessions to review the material from each grade. *PSTO will be meeting Tuesday, March 26 at 6:30 pm in the media center.

 

Tuesday, March 26 is a PLC day. Students will be released at 1:40p and should be off campus no later than 1:55p. Just a reminder…There are no clubs or intramurals offered on PLC days.

*With the weather becoming nice, we will be heading outside for recess. Please remember classes are still in session, and students are asked to remain off the hills next to the windows during this time.  Please also remember to bring jackets as it might be cooler some days.

*Only Clear Water Containers at Mickle….Parents and students, we want to remind everyone that students may have water with them in classrooms at school.  However, the container must be see through and only contain clear water (without added flavorings, etc).
Recently, there has been increased use of newly gifted water bottles that do not meet our clear, see-through standards.  We ask parents to help us with our message by reminding your student. *A friendly reminder that audition paperwork for the 2019-2020 Star Strutter Drill Team is due this week.  All paperwork must be completed and returned to Lincoln Northeast’s main office by tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. You can pick up an audition packet in the main office or at LNE’s main office.  Also, an optional pre-audition clinic will take place on today at LNE from 3:30-5:00 for all interested candidates.  Please contact Coach Erin Pauley if you have questions.

The BackPack program offers students throughout Lincoln Public Schools food for weekends, when they might not otherwise have access to it. Please help us provide Backpacks of food for these students by donating to the program. A $10 donation by March 6th will include a free T-shirt and participation in the walk on Saturday, April 27th. You may pick up a flyer in the office.
