*Reminder from CLC…
This week for CLC, we will be hosting Full Program ONLY on Thursday and will NOT be hosting CLC at all on Friday.

*Just a reminder if any international travel is planned in the next few weeks, students will need to quarantine for a week and have a COVID test upon returning to the United States.  Please contact the Mickle Health Office or the Lincoln Lancaster County Health Department for more information.

*Bright Lights Summer Learning Adventures…….
Bright Lights is looking for 8th Grade volunteers to help with their programs this summer. Every year there are 150 student volunteers and 2000 student campers. Bright Lights is going to be in person this year with many safety protocols.
Please see Mr. Penner in the CC if you are interested in the information.
You can also call Bright Lights at 402-420-111

The March “Take It and Make It Kit” is now available. Stop by the library to get all the materials you need
to make an origami jumping bunny. Remote students can email Mrs. Fickes (mfickes@lps.org) to request a kit be placed with their pickup materials.

Please join the Mickle PTSO for the next meeting March 4 at 6:30.  Do you like to recognize people?  Do you like to come up with creative ideas?  Are you interested in how you can help support teachers and students at Mickle?  We are looking for people to join the leadership team and committees for next year as a part of succession planning as many of the current leaders will move on after their 8th graders leave next year.   We will talk about the positions, time commitments, etc. on the 4th.  Please join us and help continue the tradition of supporting Mickle!

Portraits are photographs of the student facing forward, looking directly at the camera, from the armpit area up, with a grey, light blue or white background. *Do you know a child or teen who has experienced the death of someone significant?
Join Mourning Hope for our online Family Grief Support Group.
March 16 – April 20 | Tuesdays
5:15 p.m. to 6 p.m.: ages 6 to 9
6:15 p.m. to 7 p.m.: ages 10 to 12
7:15 p.m. to 8 p.m.: adult caregivers
8:15 p.m. to 9 p.m.: ages 13 to 18
This free, online support group is for families with children ages 6 through 18 who have experienced the death of someone significant in their lives. Caregivers attend a separate group to receive education on how to support a grieving child, as well as grief support themselves.
This group enables both youth and their caregivers to develop healthy coping skills and work through complex emotions associated with the death. Most importantly, children and teens will recognize they are not alone in their grief.
This group is hosted via Zoom, an online video conferencing platform. Participants will need access to a computer, tablet or smartphone, and must pre-register to receive an invitation link.

Mickle PTSO is hosting a golf tournament in April and is looking for a sweet original design to put on the t-shirts. Where could they get a cool design? Why, from YOU of course! Create an original design that can be used on the t-shirts from the tournament. Make sure that your cool design meets these requirements:

→ entry should be related to golf in some way. Mickle-related is a bonus!

→ black and white only.

→ an original design created by YOU. Designs found online or traced will not be accepted.

→ must have the design in a digital format. This could be a clear picture of your artwork or an artwork that was digitally created.

→ make sure that your full name is attached to your entry (for example, typing your full name in your email before attaching your picture)

→ Send your design entry to Ms. Rix by FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 19th. Email to: srix@lps.org

How do we decide the winner?

Ms. Rix and Ms. Bratton will put all designs on a Google Form. You will get to vote on which design you like the best. The winning design will be the t-shirt AND you win a free t-shirt with your design on it. Cool right?

Can’t wait to see your ideas!
